X-Ray crystal structure of hexakis(dimethylamino)dimolybdenum. A new compound with a metal-to-metal triple bond

Abstract

The compound Mo2(NMe2)6 is shown by X-ray crytallography to contain centrosymmetric molecules (virtual symmetry S6, differing little from D3d) with a triple bond between the metal atoms [Mo–Mo = 2·214(2)]
