Asymmetric hydrogenation of a carbon–nitrogen double bond in folic acid

Abstract

Asymmetric catalytic reduction of the 5–6 carbon-nitrogen double bond in folic acid has been achived by hydrogenation with an optically active rhodium catalyst.
