Reaction of phenalenones with dimethyloxosulphonium methylide
Abstract
Phenalenone reacts with dimethyloxosulphonium methylide to give 9-methylphenalenone which, in turn, reacts with the ylide to form 9-methyl-2,3-homophenalenone.
