Unsymmetrical azoxyalkanes and alkylazoxyarenes are produced in good yields from nitroso-compounds and NN-dichloroamines in the presence of methanolic KOH; unsymmetrical azoxy-compounds containing tertiary-alkyl substituents can be prepared by this method.
