Mass spectrometric observation and stability of gaseous RuC2, PtC2, and IrC2

Abstract

The gaseous molecules RuC2, PtC2, and IrC2 have been observed in a high-temperature mass spectrometer and their atomization energies, ΔH°atm,o, have been determined as 1119.0 ± 38, 1084.1 ± 38 and ⩽ 1088.3 ± 42 kJ mol–1.
