Deactivation pathways of excited uranyl ions in solutions

Abstract

Deactivation pathways of excited uranyl ions in solutions have been studied by flash photolysis and the production of U5+ has been shown to occur via exciplex formation as a result of donor–acceptor interaction between U6+* and electron donors.
