Industrial sampling and analysis

Abstract

Quality control by sampling and analysis is essential in the chemical industry. Raw materials, process intermediates and finished products must all be analysed for conformity with the relevant specifications. With increasing concern for the environment this control has been extended to effluents. Illustrative examples are given of the methods used for the quality control of compound fertilisers and for the analysis of gaseous and liquid effluents.
