Automatic analyses of trace amounts of 2-furfuraldehyde in gas oil

Abstract

The design and development of an automatic instrument for the identification and determination of 2-furfuraldehyde (0 to 6·0 mg kg–1) in gas oil is described. The principle of operation of the instrument, which is in routine use, involves a gas-chromatographic separation followed by a colorimetric determination.
