A convenient method for collecting gas-chromatographic effluents for micro-scale infrared spectrophotometric analysis in the gas phase
Abstract
A method for the collection of fractions of low relative molecular mass issuing from a gas chromatograph folowed by identification using infrared spectrophotometry is described. The fractions are transferred to a microscale gas cell by a simple cryogenic technique, which requires minimum handling of the separated fractions. Good infrared spectra were obtained for a sample size of 30 to 100 µg.
