Some correlations involving 13C chemical shifts of monosubstituted derivatives of hexafluorobenzene

Abstract

13 C Chemical shifts in a series of 17 mono-substituted derivatives of hexafluorobenzene have been measured and correlations sought with (i)13C shifts of monosubstituted benzenes and para-substituted fluorobenzenes; (ii)19F chemical shifts of monosubstituted hexafluorobenzenes; and (iii) Taft's σi and σR reactivity parameters. The nuclear Overhauser enhancement in our 13C-{19F} experiments is shown to be small.
