2,6-Divinyltetrahydropyran

Abstract

Synthesis of the cis- and trans-isomers of 2,6-divinyltetrahydropyran is described. Conformational analysis by n.m.r. spectroscopy has given the activation free energy of ring inversion, ΔG= 8.7 kcal mol–1(36·4 kJ mol–1) for the trans-isomer.
