Cobalt(I) tetradehydrocorrin complexes

Abstract

The presence of meso-electron attracting groups such as cyano or nitro in cobalt tetradehydrocorrin complexes stabilises the metal in the cobalt(I) state, and with two or more such substituents the complexes can be isolated as stable solids. The cobalt(I)meso-cyano-complexes are produced by thermolysis of the dicyanocobalt(III) compounds and their structures have been confirmed by electrochemical studies.
