Viscoelastic behaviour of some viscous liquids

Abstract

The viscoelastic behaviour of a number of supercooled hydrocarbon liquids and their derivatives has been studied using shear waves of frequencies 5, 10 and 30 MHz. The elastic compliance Jāˆž of these liquids increases linearly with temperature. The complex compliance J* is described by a viscoelastic analogue of the Davidson-Cole expression.
