Oscillator strength of the C 2B2∑—X2∑ transition: a shock-tube determination

Abstract

Comparative intensity measurements of C2 and C2 molecular spectra have been made using a shock tube technique. From these measurements the absorption electronic oscillator strength of the C2 Herzberg-Lagerqvist bands has been determined as 0.017 ± 0.008 at the (0,0) band origin.
