Temperature dependence of solubility of nonelectrolytes

Abstract

A critical evaluation of the existing methods of representing the temperature dependence of sparingly soluble nonelectrolytes has been made. A useful method has been formulated and tested with the existing data on the solubility of CO2 in ethanol, S8 in carbon disulphide, and S8 in toluene. The effect of highly polar and associated solvents is discussed.
