Enthalpies of solvation of some metal acetylacetonates

Abstract

Enthalpies of solution of M(acac)3(M = Al, Cr, Mn, Fe, and Co) in acetone, benzene, and chloroform have been determined calorimetrically. Specific solvent–solute interaction occurs in the case of chloroform with all solutes and is of the order of 6 kcal (25 kJ) mol–1 solute.
