Nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of complexes of platinum(II), palladiurn(II), platinum(IV), rhodium(III), and iridium(III) containing three or four trimethylphosphine ligands

Abstract

The 1H n.m.r. spectra of [MX(PMe3)3][NO3](M = Pd or Pt), mer-[PtX3(PMe3)3][NO3], mer- and fac-MX3(PMe3)3, trans-[MX2(PMe3)4]+(M = Rh or Ir, X = Cl or Br), [Ptl(PMe3)3][NO3], and [Pt(PMe3)4][BF4]2 are reported and discussed, together with data from 1H{31P} INDOR measurements. The signs of several of the couplings have been determined by heteronuclear double resonance. A partial analysis is presented for the spectra of the [AXn]4(planar) systems.
