Kinetics of aquation of tris(1,10-phenanthroline)iron(II) complexes in aqueous dioxan
Abstract
The dependence of rate 0constants for aquation of the complexes [FeL3]2+[L = 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline (5-NO2phen), 4,7-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (4,7-Me2phen), and 3-sulphonato-1,10-phenanthroline (3-SO3phen)] on solvent composition and the nature and concentration of the acid added is described for water–dioxan solvent mixtures with compositions in the range 0–60%(by volume)dioxan.
