Novel rearrangement of αα-dichlorodibenzyl sulphides. A new synthesis of acetylenes

Abstract

αα-Dichlorodibenzyl sulphides are converted directly into diarylacetylenes by reaction with triphenylphosphine and potassium t-butoxide in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran.
