Adina alkaloids: the structure of rubenine

Abstract

Rubenine, a carboxy-indole alkaloid derived from tetrahydrodeoxycordifoline (6) with a unique N(b)–C-18 linkage, has been isolated from Adina rubescens and its structure established as (1a).
