The difference of intensity of left and right circularlyp polarised emission from zinc octaethyl porphyrin in a magnetic field at low temperature enables the evaluation of the magnetic moment of the fluorescent and phosphorescent states; attention is drawn to the potential of this technique in studying energy transfer processes.
