Reactions of alkynes and dienes on magnesium and other metal films

Abstract

Alkynes and dienes undergo self-hydrogenation on magnesium and other metal films apparently through an interaction between adsorbed alkynes or dienes and a hydrocarbon residue, probably a polymer, deposited on the metal surface.
