Carbon tetrachloride as a possible source of interference during fumigant residue analysis
Abstract
The contamination of acetone with an impurity corresponding to carbon tetrachloride on two different gas-chromatographic columns is described. It has been shown that this contamination could be caused by carbon tetrachloride in the laboratory atmosphere, which possibly arises from the use of aerosol propellent cans for spraying thin-layer chromatograms.
