The determination of volatile metal chelates by using a microwave-excited emissive detector
Abstract
A microwave-excited emissive detector operated at atmospheric pressure has been used in conjunction with gas chromatography in order to achieve the separation and determination of various metal chelates of acetylacetone and trifluoroacetylacetone. The operating parameters have been optimised and the limits of detection and degrees of selectivity evaluated. The proposed method is both selective and very sensitive and can also confirm the presence of a particular metal.
