High energy reaction kinetics using a hard sphere model. Part 2.—T + RH

Abstract

A simple hard sphere model is used to determine excitation functions for the major products of the reaction of translationally hot T atoms with R—H and R—D. The results are compared with the available experimental data on these systems and show no major inconsistencies. The model predicts that significant amounts of internal excitation remain in HT produced by a stripping mode of H abstraction from R—H.
