Octathiocyanato- and octaselenocyanato-complexes of the tetravalent actinide elements

Abstract

Octathiocyanato-actinide(IV) complexes of the types (NEt4)4M(NCS)8(M = Th, Pa, U, Np, and Pu) and Cs4M(NCS)8(M = U and Pu) and the octaselenocyanato-complexes (NEt4)4Pa(NCSe)8 and (NEt4)4U(NCSe)8 have been prepared by reactions in non-aqueous media. Crystallographic and spectral results are reported for the complexes together with some chemical properties.
