Twelve complexes, R2SnCl(S2CNR2), have been synthesised and characterised. Although i.r. and n.m.r. spectroscopies do not afford clear evidence, tetrahedral structures involving unidentate dithiocarbamate have been assigned to the solid state on the basis of quadrupole splitting energies as measured by Mössbauer spectroscopy.
