Thermodynamics of complex formation with linear aliphatic tetramines. Part II. Heats and entropies of the reactions of 3,7-diazanonane-1,9-diamine with hydrogen ions and some bivalent transition-metal ions
Abstract
Heats of formation of NiII, CuII, ZnII, and proton complexes of 3,7-diazanonane-1,9-diamine (2,3,2-tet) have been measured calorimetrically. These thermodynamic data show that the high stability of the metal complexes is mainly due to the enthalpy term even if the entropy term is favourable.
