Optically active co-ordination compounds. Part XXVIII. Resolution of the triscarbonatocobaltate(III) anion

Abstract

The nature of the triscarbonatocobaltate(III) species in aqueous solution and in some salts has been studied by i.r. spectroscopy. The presence of the trischelated species [Co(CO3)3]3– is demonstrated by an optical resolution, using (+)[Co(en)3]3+.
