Vibrational–electronic fine structure in tetragonally distorted tetrahedral nickel(II) compounds

Abstract

The near-i.r. electronic spectra of crystals of (Et4N)2NiCl4 and (Et4N)2NiBr4 at 5 K are reported. Vibrational–electronic band progressions are interpreted in terms of interactions with Raman-active modes of the materials.
