Non-adiabatic transitions

Abstract

Known limitations of the Stuckelberg-Landau-Zener formula are described in terms of an analogy between the curve-crossing and barrier penetration problems. Available perturbation and other correction methods are reviewed. Applications of the theory to the interpretation of molecular predissociation, collision cross-section and kinetic rate constant measurements are outlined.
