Novel photochemical reaction of alcohols in the presence of an olefin and 2-aminobenzenethiol

Abstract

Photolysis of simple primary alcohols in the presence of 2-aminobenzenethiol and cyclohexene afforded 2-alkyl-2-methylbenzothiazolines in which the methyl group may arise from a carbon atom of cyclohexene.
