Three-fragment oxidative addition of chloroform-iminium or -amidinium chlorides to RhI or PtII substrates; complexes of the secondary carbene CHNMe2

Abstract

Chloroform-iminium or -amidinum chlorides oxidatively add to RhI or PtII compounds to give RhIII or PtIV carbene complexes; of particular interest are the Cr0, Fe0, RhIII, IrIII, and PtIV complexes of the secondary carbene CHNMe2, in which the hydrogen atom attached to C(carbene) is deshielded (τ–1·2 to +0·9).
