Ring expansion by a 1,3-shift of carbon during reaction of cis-myrtanylamine with nitrous acid

Abstract

Reaction of cis-myrtanylamine with nitrous acid gives 20% of products of ring expansion via a 1,3-carbon shift, despite competing 1,2-carbon shift and hydride shift reactions.
