Autoxidation of iron(II) di-imine complexes

Abstract

Tris(biacetylbismethylimine)iron(II), in acid aqueous media, undergoes a free-radical chain autoxidation process, promoted by iron(III) and inhibited by iron(II), in which ligands are oxidized without breaking the metal–ligand bond or oxidation of the iron(II).
