An X-ray crystal structure of sodium (–)546-bis[trans-N-methyl-(S)-alaninato]oxalatocobaltate(III) dihydrate (1) confirms the R–S configuration of the N-methyl-S-alanine ligands and the absolute configuration of the anion as Λ.
