Crystal structure of a complex containing tungsten(VI) sulphide oxide dichloride

Abstract

The reaction of WSCl4 with 1,2-dimethoxyethane (dme) results in oxygen abstraction and the formation of a complex that a single-crystal study shows may be formulated as WSCl4, WOSCl2dme; the WSCl4 and WOSCl2,dme units are linked through the oxygen atom of the WOCl2 unit, both tungsten atoms having a distorted octahedral environment.
