2,2-Dimethyl-1,1,1,1-tetracarbonyl-1-ferra-2-silacyclopentane: insertion of [Fe(CO)4] into a strained organosilicon ring

Abstract

The strained organosilicon heterocycle, 1,1-dimethyl-1-silacyclobutane reacts with nonacarbonyldi-iron to give a new type of binuclear chelate complex, (CO)4[graphic omitted]iMe2, which is thermally stable, but chemically reactive.
