The characterisation of the ions [PClnBr4–n]+(0 ⩽n⩽ 4) by means of solid state 31P nuclear magnetic resonance

Abstract

The characterisation of the complete series of ions [PClnBr4–n]+, (0 ⩽n⩽ 4), including the previously unknown species [PCl2Br2]+ and [PBr3Cl]+, has been accomplished in the solid state using 31P n.m.r. spectroscopy.
