Steady state and pulse radiolysis studies of Cl2· reactivity in micellar systems

Abstract

Rate constants for reactions of Cl2· with charged and neutral surfactants are significantly smaller above the critical micelle concentrations than below them; the subsequent reactions, rather than the formation of the uracil–Cl2· adduct, are affected by micellization.
