The titrimetric determination of copper in steels and alloys

Abstract

Copper is separated from nearly all other elements by precipitation as its diethyldithiocarbamate from EDTA solution and the organic matter is destroyed by wet oxidation. After complexing entrained iron with fluoride, potassium iodide is added and the liberated iodine is titrated with standard thiosulphate solution.
