Spectroscopic studies of some substituted methyl formates. Part 2.—Infra-red spectra of methyl-fluoroformate, -cyanoformate and -propiolate

Abstract

The infra-red spectra of methyl-fluoroformate, -cyanoformate and -propiolate have been recorded between 4000 and 50 cm–1. All normal vibrations (including torsional modes) for these substances have been tentatively assigned to observed absorption bands. In each case the spectrum is consistent with a planar cis molecular structure.
