Gas chromatography of steroids: the use of steroid derivatives as stationary phases

Abstract

Certain liquid-crystalline esters of cholesterol make very useful stationary phases for the gas-chromatographic resolution of steroids on the basis of molecular shape. The separations are complementary and often greatly superior to those possible with ‘conventional’ stationary phases.
