The chemistry of fungi. Part LX. The synthesis of tetrahydrosclerotioramine, tetrahydrosclerotoquinone, and tetrahydrosclerotiorin

Abstract

The syntheses of tetrahydrosclerotioramine, tetrahydrosclerotoquinone (a transformation product of tetrahydro-sclerotiorin), and tetrahydrosclerotiorin are described. During preliminary investigations the synthesis of various 3-alkyl-8-hydroxy-6H-2-benzopyran-6-ones has been explored. The effects of substitution patterns upon the stability of this system are reported.
