Studies on heterocyclic chemistry. Part XI. Synthesis of 2,3-diaryl-3-hydroxyaminoaziridine-2-carboxamide

Abstract

The reaction of 2,3-diaryl-2H-azirine-2-carboxamide with hydroxylamine produces 2,3-diaryl-3-hydroxyaminoaziridine-2-carboxamide in nearly quantitative yield. The preparation of a nitrone from the aziridine is described.
