One-electron transfer properties of diquaternary salts of 2-(2-pyridyl)-quinoline
Abstract
2-(2-Pyridyl)quinoline reacts with ethylene dibromide and 1,3-dibromopropane to form diquaternary salts which are reversible one-electron transfer systems with redox potentials (E0) of ca.–0·20 V. The salts are, for practical purposes, inactive as herbicides.
