Reactive dyes. Part II. Synthesis and evaluation of dyes containing monochloropyrimidinium and monomethylthiopyrimidinium systems

Abstract

Reactive dyes have been prepared (a) by reaction of diazotised 2-amino-4-p-aminoanilino-6-chloropyrimidine or the corresponding 1-methylpyrimidinium methyl sulphate with either β-naphthol or 2-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid and (b) by reaction of 4-chloro-6-methyl-2-methylthiopyrimidine with 4-amino-2′,4′-dinitrodiphenylamine and quaternisation of the product with dimethyl sulphate.
