Alkaloids of Erythrina iysistemon. 11-Methoxyerythraline, a new alkaloid

Abstract

A new alkaloid, 11-methoxyerythraline, has been isolated from E. lysistemon, and its structure has been established by spectroscopic methods. Erysotrine has also been isolated as a natural product; a structure for its dihydroderivative is suggested which involves a 1,6-double bond.
