Adsorption effects in the polarographic behaviour of ω-diazoacetophenones in aqueous buffer solutions

Abstract

Electrocapillary curves, concentration effects, and instantaneous current measurements indicate the importance of adsorption of the electroactive substance in determining the shape of the polarograms of ω-diazoacetophenones in aqueous buffer solutions. Potential-step transients show that the electrolytic reduction of adsorbed diazoketone is autocatalytic. Rate constants are reported for the autocatalytic reduction of some adsorbed diazoketones.
