Arene molybdenum chemistry: tertiary-phosphine and -phosphite derivatives and related phosphine-hydrides

Abstract

Treatment of bis(benzene)molybdenum with tertiary-phosphines or -phosphites gives the derivatives C6H6MoL3[L = PPhMe2, PPh2Me, P(OMe)3, PPh2(OMe), or P(OPh)3]. When L = PPh2Me or PPhMe2 the compounds are basic and readily protonate forming the hydrides [C6H6MoL3H]+.
